Access and audit trail
Who can see what in AppThentic, and how every question, answer and approval is logged.
Access follows your sources
A person sees a rule’s evidence only if they could already see where it came from. If someone cannot open a repository, they do not see the code-derived evidence from it in AppThentic, in answers, or through an AI coding tool.
Roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Reader | Ask questions and read rules they have access to |
| Owner | Answer, approve and update the rules they own |
| Area lead | Assign owners and see coverage for their area |
| Administrator | Connect sources and manage access |
The audit trail
Every action is logged with who and when:
- Each question asked, and to whom.
- Each answer, approval, correction and rejection.
- Each change of owner or status.
- Each source connected or disconnected.
The trail is what lets an approval stand up later. See Audit and compliance.
