Data handling
What AppThentic reads, what it stores, and how you correct or remove it.
What AppThentic reads
Only the sources you connect: repositories, tickets, docs and threads, plus logs and read-only database access if you enable investigations. Reading is read-only. See Reading your systems.
What AppThentic stores
| Stored | Where |
|---|---|
| Business rules and their locations | Organization Memory, in your infrastructure |
| Links to supporting evidence | Organization Memory |
| Questions, answers and approvals | Organization Memory |
| History of every change | Organization Memory |
| Past investigations and their causes | Organization Memory |
AppThentic stores links to source material and the parts it needs as evidence. Your systems remain the source of record.
Correcting and deleting
- An owner can correct an answer at any time. The correction is recorded with the date.
- A single fact can be deleted from Organization Memory without affecting any other fact or retraining anything.
- Disconnecting a source stops AppThentic reading it.
Personal data
Answers are attributed to the people who gave them, because attribution is what makes them trustworthy. People can see what they have been asked and what they answered.
